Prof. Rezvi Sheriff

Prof. Rezvi Sheriff is celebrated as the founding visionary of Arora Hospital and a pioneer in renal medicine and kidney transplantation in Sri Lanka. With a distinguished career spanning over four decades, he has transformed the nation’s healthcare landscape through innovation, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Recognized as the Father of Nephrology in Sri Lanka, Prof. Sheriff led the country’s first successful kidney transplant programme and established standards that continue to guide renal treatment nationwide. His groundbreaking work in nephrology and internal medicine earned him both national and international acclaim, including fellowships from leading medical academies and numerous lifetime achievement awards.
